The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is specially designed for entrepreneurs from outside Canada who are interested in starting a new business or buying an existing business in Ontario.
This program allows entrepreneurs (and up to one foreign national business partner) to be nominated for permanent residence after their business gets established in Ontario.
Net worth
There is a requirement for minimum personal net worth and should be lawfully obtained and verifiable. If your proposed business is to be located:
within the Greater Toronto Area, the minimum personal net worth is $800,000 Canadian
outside of the Greater Toronto Area, the minimum personal net worth is $400,000 Canadian
Personal investment funds and minimum equity
You need to make minimum investments in the business from your personal net worth. If your proposed business is to be located:
within the Greater Toronto Area, the minimum personal investment required is $600,000 Canadian
outside of the Greater Toronto Area, the minimum personal investment required is $200,000 Canadian
you should also control at least one-third of the equity in the business.
